Foreign Language

Young students’ minds are primed for language, and their curiosity and enthusiasm to explore a foreign language makes learning fun for them. In our  program, students are introduced to the basics of Spanish or French using songs, games, stories, and fun activities that enable them to learn proper pronunciation from an early age while introducing them to the fundamental structure of the language and basic vocabulary.

Among other things, students learn what a gender-based language is and what phonetics-based languages are and how they differ from English. Vocabulary categories will include:

  • how to introduce yourself
  • how to express how you feel
  • colors, numbers, shapes, days of the weeks and months
  • and more.

Early exposure to a foreign language helps open students’ ears and minds to a future pursuit of foreign language study, whatever the language might be.

“An education capable of saving humanity is no small undertaking; it involves the spiritual development of man, the enhancement of his value as an individual, and the preparation of young people to understand the times in which they live.” — Maria Montessori
