Pre-K & Kindergarten
(2.5-6 Years)
The Homestead School was founded in 1978 by Pete and Marsha Comstock on the family’s 125-year-old homestead. The school recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Our mission is to nurture self-motivated students whose love of learning will carry through into a lifetime of responsible and constructive contributions to the well-being of their fellow humans and the Earth.
The teachers at the Homestead School are highly qualified educators often with professional experiences outside of education (e.g., award-winning author, biologist, architect, and more) and, therefore, can contribute unique talents and skills.
Our campus is nestled on an 85-acre permaculture homestead in the beautiful and pristine Upper Delaware River Valley of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York. We are only 2 hours from New York City, and some of our parents commute to the city every day.
