About The Homestead School

The Homestead School is a Montessori School with campuses located in Glen Spey and Hurleyville, NY, offering children ages 3 years to 18 years (Pre-K through 12th grade) a unique, life-enriching, humanitarian, and outdoor-oriented educational experience.

Homestead Glen Spey (Primary School)

Homestead Collaborative College High School (Secondary School)
Hurleyville, NY

  • Main building with classrooms and state of the art maker’s space including digital media lab, ceramics studio, 3D fabrication lab, woodworking shop, and outdoor greenhouse 
  • Students dually enrolled with SUNY Sullivan and receive the full host of services including access to the SUNY Sullivan library, sports facilities, technology, and academic support system
  • Access to The Center for Discovery’s working farm with organic gardens and farm animals
  • Rail Trail and basketball courts adjacent to the main building
  • Active partnership including enrichment taught by local business owners in Hurleyville ranging from Fiber Arts to dance, to writing for the local newspaper. 

Key Facts About The School

Both campuses are located in the Tri-State area, 35 minutes from each other.  The original Homestead Glen Spey campus is 2 hours from New York City (25 minutes from Monticello). The Hurleyville campus is 10 minutes north of Monticello. The school serves students from Sullivan County (NY), Orange County (NY), Pike County (PA), Sussex County (NJ), and Wayne County (PA).
