Melissa W. Cahn

Melissa has been at the Homestead School since 2004, beginning her career at Homestead as an Early Childhood classroom assistant. She is a Certified Montessori teacher for Lower and Upper Elementary levels from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts double major in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Delaware as well as a Masters in Parks and Recreation from the USDA Graduate Field School.

For over ten years, she has worked as a National Park Ranger taking visitors on interpretive hikes and sharing nature with children. She gave tours of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, and started the first Junior Ranger program at the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site. A program that is still in existence today.
