Kristina Murphy
Kristina, or Krissy, joined Homestead School in 2021 as a teacher in the Early Childhood program. Kristina is a certified English and Family & Consumer Science teacher. Her prior experience includes Academic Instructor at Job Corps where she taught reading, Family and Consumer Science Teacher, farm-to-table sous chef and restaurant manager. She’s grateful that she was able to stay home and raise her children while also being able to substitute teach when her tugboat captain husband was home to care for them as well.
Kristina spent two summers in Boston, training through METTC’s teacher training program to become a certified Montessori Lower Elementary Montessori educator. She loves to cook, bake, and spend time in various ways in nature. She incorporates her indoor and outdoor interests into her classroom curriculum.
I love watching children of all ages learn and seeing that lightbulb go on. As Thomas Edison said, “If we did all the things that we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves.”
