Chieh deJong

Chieh grew up in the metropolitan area and was born in Taiwan. She has traveled to over twenty five countries and studied four languages. Chieh enjoys travel and the great outdoors, widening her horizons to multiple coasts, cultures and cuisine.

Ms. de Jong graduated from Pace University with a 4.0 g.p.a, receiving a Master’s of Science in Teaching and a scholarly achievement award. Chieh’s first teaching experience was as a film editing instructor to an array of international students at the New York Film Academy. Since then, Ms. de Jong has taught middle school mathematics while a NYC Teaching Fellow and has been a Waldorf teacher for over ten years. She completed her Waldorf handwork teacher training, graduating from the Fiber Crafts Studio with a certificate in Applied Arts.

Ms. de Jong has experience teaching children of all ages and various neurodiversity. She is dedicated to
seeing her students unfold to their fullest potential.

As a fine artist, Chieh has had a solo art show in Manhattan with her paintings and fiber art. Her bands have opened for such artists as Beck, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, and Evan Dando of the Lemonheads. She enjoys living a creative life.
