Liz Luisada

The mom of a new Homestead student, Liz was raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She is a
graduate of Field School, and has a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design. A
Painter and P.S.I.A. certified Children’s Specialist Ski instructor, Liz spent a year as a reading
tutor in New Orleans while volunteering with Common Ground, a Hurricane Katrina relief
organization. After moving to Northeast Pennsylvania she worked as a ski instructor and
concentrated on making art, expanding her media and studying Permaculture and Naturalistic
planting design. Liz spent several years as an artist-in-residence teaching workshops to faculty
at The Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, NY. As well as teaching drawing and painting in
Honesdale, PA. Luisada has been exhibiting her work in the United States since 2005, and is
represented at Klaus Von Nichtssagend Gallery in New York. Her work has been reviewed in the
New York Times, and is included in the public collection of the Cleveland Clinic. She now lives
in rural Northeast Pennsylvania.
