Linda Coss, Art teacher, Homestead School

Linda Coss

Linda Coss graduated from William Patterson State College with a degree in Studio Art. She was granted certification in functional pottery from Penland School of Craft and has pursued additional coursework in ceramics at Peter’s Valley Craft Center as well as private instruction from various acclaimed ceramicists. Linda heads the Art Department at The Homestead School, where she has been employed since 2007. Linda was recently chosen as an emerging artist by Peters Valley School of Craft 2020 and by the American Craft Council 2020. When not in the classroom, she can be found in her home studio, creating wares for her small-batch ceramic company, Earth & Twine.

I love the fact that I can share my love of art with my students. The ability to be creative is vital to their well being. By creating, children are developing self-expression, problem-solving skills, math skills, self-motivation, social skills, and so much more. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the joy in their achievements and watching them grow as artists.
